USCG 100 Ton Master Jason Carter |
Hello, My name is Jason. I have a 100 ton USCG Masters License and am the captain of the 46' ft. sailing sloop Survivan.
Growing up in Texas, and spending my childhood summers hiking and climbing all over Colorado, I acquired a love for the outdoors. I went to school for Anthropology at Texas A&M University and then spent time in Alaska working as a mountaineering guide. After school I spent my winters managing a snowboard shop in Breckenridge Colorado and when summer rolled around I was back up in Alaska stomping though the majestic mountains. I had a chance to travel to Thailand the winter of 2000. The tropical weather and the ocean were supporting ideas of change, and getting out of endless winters spent in Alaska and Colorado. Growing up around lakes in Texas, and learning how to sail, I made a choice after Thailand to move here to St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Consequently, I have lived on the water ever since. Sailing, exploring, as well as working as a Kayak and snorkeling guide all around the area have given me a great understanding of our surrounding waters. The snorkeling around St John is excellent. I have a superb knowledge of where the best snorkel spots are and what we will see there.
